The "evolution" of God

Last night on the Colbert Report, a guy by the name of Robert Wright. He is probably smarter than me but on Jesus and the Bible he is missing something. He grew up Southern Baptist, probably in a Fundamentalist church in OK. So, I'm sure he is responding to some what he heard growing up but some of the stuff he quotes is way off of true historical facts. I haven't read the book but I can respond to what he says in the interview. The interview below.

He says two things, one about Jesus and one about the NT. I recommend Jesus and the eyewitnesses to talk about the reliability of the NT as a written Oral History. Here is a good review of it by Andreas Köstenberger. Also, did Jesus call himself God, see the Michael Bird Book Are You the One Who Is to Come?: The Historical Jesus and the Messianic Question. See a good review of it here. If you are going to criticize someone, at least criticize the best of the argument (not a lesser person).

Luke and Sara's Story

Luke and Sara Shortridge are two people God used in a huge way to show me his grace. Ten years ago, Luke invited me to go to a Christian concert while his buddy Brent and future wife Sara showed me Jesus at a lunch table everyday. They are great people and have been of great encouragement from a distant and up close over the years.

Currently, Luke and Sara are going through a real tough time for their newborn Jackson has been in the hospital for seven straight weeks. This last weekend at their church (Cedarcreek.tv), they showed two videos showing how Luke and Sara have been dealing with things. Enjoy (as much as you can watching a child and his parents suffer through a tough time)!

Cheap Hotels?
