Well, it has been a week now moving from Raleigh (Big City) to Payne (Little Village). There have been some things I have been trying to get use to.
First and foremost, it is weird being an obvious outsider. Everyone is nice but I get the sense that they are skeptical about me. I'm also trying to figure the ins and outs of the town.
Secondly, I'm learning to live without FOX. Since the local FOX station is not broadcasting at full power, we can't pick it up (yet). I'm hoping that changes come football season. Also, that's why my wife is forcing me to watch the Bachelor finale as oppose to forcing me to watch American Idol. I would rather watch a baby seal get clubbed than watch this sorry excuse for a show manipulate the word love.
Thirdly, I'm also trying to figure our if we need to be a one car family. My regal is acting up. I hope everything is alright but I've found that I enjoy walking places. I'm also looking forward to trying to bike places that I need to go if Lori has the car. We are still praying about this.
Fourth, now that I am in a house, I realized how much I took for granted living in an apartment. There is definitely more to do (like take out the trash) and deal with landscaping.
Finally, I am 94% sure that after six years of having a cell phone that I will no longer have one. Verizon does not have good reception (though the actual land line is run by Verizon).
So yeah, that is what is going on for all you who were wondering. . .
