I love Google Maps....

I love Google Maps. Finally, Google Maps has street view for the Triangle Area and I'm loving it because now I can actually safely from the confines(?) of my apartment. Figure out how to navigate this crazy town(?). including carry(?), so hooray for Google Maps. listen

Random Musings. . .

A few things God is trying to get through my thick skull:
  1. Stop trying to build Dan's church and draw people with Dan's passion for people but be an agent in building Christ's church and draw people with Christ's passion for people.
  2. The spiritual side of people's lives is more important and is more often neglected than anything else. Too bad most problems are spiritual in nature and physical.
  3. With a reminder from Stephen W. - "The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD." Proverbs 21:31
Three things that I have done for the first time that I have critiqued in the past
  1. Got a pedicure.
  2. Edited Wikipedia.
  3. Voted on American Idol.
By the way, I'm really digging Falling Slowly from the Once soundtrack right now.

Father of Christian Rock. . .

Larry Norman died yesterday. While I didn't grow up in the church, my first exposure to Christian Music was at a sixth grade over night at my former wrestling coach's house. We watch some movie on being left behind set to the tune of Larry Norman's "If we'd all been ready." Of course, I didn't know it then but I made fun of the dude since the music was lame. Up until today, I still thought as much because it wasn't contemporary enough.

After reading a small biography of him here, I need to repent. One of my big sins that I commit over and over is the sin of immaturity. I act and think like I know better then anyone in the past. The sin of pride is huge and it makes me get angry for no reason. God, I repent for know it all.

Here is a youtube clip of Larry Norman. It is a cool little song that though the music may not be the lyrics are still relevant.

Sometimes it pays toclean....

Sometimes it pays toclean. Today I finally got around to cleaning my desk that hasn't been touched since July of last year and I happened to stumble upon two old Christmas cards with one with the check in it and the other with a gift card and in it's [...] Garden. I use to pay attention to what people give me so I feel like an idiot and I should clean my desk more often. Praise you God and thanks for the kindness of strangers or people in the Church. Peace out. listen

Well, Murphy, has finally...

Well, Murphy, has finally struck. Everyone says that in your attempts to get out of debt, you need to have an emergency fund to keep Murphy at bay. Well thank God that we have planned ahead because between trips to the emergency room, dentist and car place, we have sufficiently experience Murphy. Praise be to God. listen

After reading the blogs...

After reading the blogs I posted last week using jott, I couldn't help, but realize that my speech is kind of bad on the cell phone, so hopefully jott will help me become clear, rave for internet tools and helping me be a better communicator via my speech since that is my job as a pastor to speak. listen

Theological Police

Last Friday night, I was privileged to meet up with my sister for dinner. Now, I haven't seen her since the summer so it was nice to catch up with her. We were enjoying ourselves when all of the sudden this guy at the table next to us asked if I was a pastor. I said yes and he proceeded to ask me the following question: "What do you think of dispensationalism?" Seeing that I am theologically trained, I presumed that he wanted to get me to believe the Gospel according to dispensationalism so I tried to state what I believe while being polite. I tried saying that "Well, we both believe Jesus is the Lord of our lives and the rest of it doesn't really matter."

The problem is the dude kept asking me questions. I could tell he just wanted me to hear his side. It was frustrating because I couldn't end the conversation. Dude was off-the-chain in pushiness and in the middle of the restaurant. I pray that our in-house conversation did not further the stereotypes another eaves-dropper might have.

3rd session, change...

3rd session, change without compromise conference. Brad Paul really hit a nail on the head.
